Save used aluminum foil - Crumple shiny side out and use to polish chrome on autos and motorcycles, sink fixtures, any where chrome is starting to pit. Try it on your kid's bike fender, this will shine it right up and send you right to YOUR bumpers!. You have used it twice, now toss it in a recycle container!
Tin cans can be opened on both ends, rinsed, the lid and bottom slipped inside and then flattened.
Milk jugs can be rinsed then flattened, put the lid back on while it is held flat and air won't get back in. This way it doesn't take up so much space in your bins.
Milk jugs make great funnels! Rinse it out, cut the bottom off with sissors and use it to fill canisters, put windshield washer fluid in the car, fill small birdfeeders (doubles as a scoop!) and more.
The once a month trip to the recycle center can be your way of saving a little of our planet.
